Q. When I try to install TEAMcontacts, I get an error message telling me that I do not have the .NET framework installed?
The .NET framework is a free piece of software from Microsoft which is required by some applications, including TEAMcontacts, to make them work. You can download a copy of the .NET framework by clicking here.
Q. I get an error message saying that I am not an administrator and the set-up program will not run?
This error might happen if you are using Microsoft Windows Vista. If you are trying to install the downloaded version of TEAMcontacts, the easiest solution is to:

  • Locate and Right-Click on the "TEAMcontacts Setup.exe" icon.
  • In the menu that appears, Left-Click on "Run as administrator" .

If you are installing the CD version:

  • On your desktop, Double-Click on the "Computer" icon.
  • Right-Click on the icon for the CD or DVD drive that contains the TEAMcontacts CD.
  • In the menu that appears, Left-Click on "Explore".
  • Locate and Right-Click on the "TEAMcontacts Setup.exe" icon.
  • A new menu will appear. Left-Click on "Run as administrator".
Q. When I install TEAMcontacts and the configuration wizard runs, I can't find my existing database on the network?
Assuming that the computer you are installing TEAMcontacts on is set-up on the network correctly, this is most likely because the folder that your TEAMcontacts database is located in is either not shared on the network or is hidden. Both of these attributes can be found and changed by Right-Clicking on the folder itself and selecting "Sharing and security" and / or "Properties".
Q. I found the database but now TEAMcontacts says it can not access it?
The folder which contains the TEAMcontacts database must allow network users to have full read and write permissions. Both of these attributes can be found and changed by Right-Clicking on the folder and selecting "Sharing and security" and / or "Properties".
Q. How do I export my contacts from Microsoft Outlook?
Open Microsoft Outlook and do the following:
  • In the top left corner of Outlook, click on "File" and select "Import/Export".
  • Left-Click on "Export to a file" to highlight it. Click "Next".
  • Left-Click on "Comma separated values (windows)" to highlight it. Click "Next".
  • Left-Click on the "Contacts" folder to highlight it. Click "Next".
  • Use the "Browse..." button to specify a location and file name for the exported contacts. Something like "contacts.csv" will be fine. Save it to somewhere that is easily accessible, like your desktop or documents folder.
  • Click "Next" and then "Finish".
Q. I bought a multi-user user license and entered my code, but TEAMcontacts still only works on my computer?
For security reasons, you have to enter your code into TEAMcontacts on every computer that you have installed it on. So if you have three computers running TEAMcontacts, you must start TEAMcontacts and enter the code on all three computers. You will only have to do this once unless you uninstall and reinstall TEAMcontacts.
